Let's look at what happens from the moment you press Send to the moment your transaction is confirmed.

What Is a Crypto Transaction?

A crypto transaction is a digitally authorized instruction that changes the ownership or state of assets recorded on a blockchain.

For a basic cryptocurrency transfer, one person sends an amount of digital assets from one blockchain address to another.

A transaction typically contains information such as:

  • The sender's address
  • The recipient's address
  • The amount being transferred
  • A transaction fee
  • A digital signature
  • Other information required by the specific blockchain

The blockchain network then processes the transaction according to its rules.

Where Does a Crypto Transaction Actually Happen?
